Shell Exploration and Production donated $25,000 on Aug. 15 to Buckner International’s Hurricane relief efforts in the Rio Grande Valley.
“This donation will help purchase materials to repair and reconstruct the homes of people who don’t qualify for FEMA,” said Jorge Zapata, director of the Buckner International colonia program. “Thank you Shell, this will be a blessing to the community.
In 1997, Shell Exploration & Production collaborated with Buckner in the creation of Shareable Wearables.
Shareable Wearables collects donations of new or gently-warn clothing for children in the Valley who would otherwise start the school year in torn, stained, or ill-fitting clothes.
